To replace earlier producing tractor KDP-35 and in 1958 on the base of Lipetsk system and after appropriate tests, T-38 of 2 ton class was put into production. All the defects of the KDP-35 tractor were eliminated in the T-38 tractor. In 1959, the tractor was upgraded, with the engine power increased from 40 to 45 hp. By increasing the number of rollers from 1400 to 1600 rpm. After modernization the tractor has received the mark T-38M. The further development of this model was T-40B tractor. T-50A tractor, garden organ, caterpillar, class 0,2 t, created KDP-35 tractor. T-50A tractor is unified with T-40B steerable tractor and T-42 wheeled tractor by main assemblies and units. T-50A tractor differs from T-40B tractor by somewhat increased ground clearance and larger track gauge. T-38 tractors were produced from 1958 to 1961, upgraded T-38M from 1962 to 1973.
T-50 tractor
The T-50 tractor was produced by the Lipetsk Tractor Plant in the last century. When developing them, the designers used the main units and technical properties from the T-40B and T-42. Now its production has been discontinued and it is quite rare to find it.
This model was developed for the cultivation of agricultural and agrarian countries of medium size, vineyards and orchards. This device can also be used in the winter for snow removal. The functionality of the tractor is expanded by the presence of additional attachments.

1960 – 1962
In the 1960s, engineers of the Kharkiv enterprise came up with the idea to modernize the DT 54 tractor, which resulted in the T-75. The version received a new engine, which could already produce up to 75 hp, appeared a double-disc hitch and even striking external differences. During 2 years about 45.8 thousand units were received for the farm. Almost everything was different, including the controls and their location.

Maintenance
The Caterpillar T-50 tractor is a practical machine that is sensitive to fuel quality. Only fresh diesel fuel is used.
Lubricants should be checked before each outing and added as necessary. Do not operate the equipment without oil.
At the end of field work, the machine must be mothballed. It should be cleaned, oiled to prevent corrosion, fueled, covered and stored in a dry place.

The main engine was SMD-14A diesel engine, which developed up to 75 hp. There was a mechanical 6-degree and 2 levers to control agricultural equipment.
Weight of the crawler tractor reaches 5.91 tons, the cabin is fully enclosed and even gets heating. Here, the driver immediately had 2 padded seats, a wiper and a control lever. All electrical appliances were powered by 12V.
