Reviews about the vehicle “Kamaz-65201”
In general, drivers and owners speak well about this dump truck – the cab is intelligent, with air suspension, which rides very softly. It’s a pleasure to work on, spending a lot of time every day.
One of the owners says that during the first months of operation he had to take off and put on the charge air cooler several times, because the right tank always went to the left. This problem was fixed with a bit of a bang.
A more serious problem, which caused a lot of testing and simple technology, showed up after only 35,000 kilometers. The engine stopped developing dynamism: it worked fine when idling, but as soon as it was warmed up the check was lit up and the car seemed to stall. I had to go to the Reach factory to find a solution to the problem. It was determined that the problem was with the electronic control unit.
“Specialists arrived. They spent ten hours running diagnostics and came to the conclusion that the camber had nothing to do with the ECU. They decided the problem was related to the fuel system. Called the factory, where they said they needed to remove the pump. A specialist completely inspected it. You brought the car in, but it doesn’t drive anymore … ” At the time of writing this rating, the problem had not yet been resolved.
Another owner had successfully operated a KAMAZ-65201 for five years (took it new). The car was reliable and inexpensive while waiting. According to the owner, the engine may not be powerful, but it is reliable enough. The camshafts never had to be replaced. Valves were first installed at over 250k mileage. The rest of the time the engine has been running smoothly.
He characterizes the dump truck as sturdy as well as the axles. He did not vote for his automobile “strength tests” and tried not to overload the 20-kilogram body, but also not to increase it.
It also reveals a very soft ride of the car, even in strained condition. Of course, it climbs uphill with difficulty. On asphalt and hard dirt roads, that’s its element. But it is not suitable or suitable for mud (off-street) and work in quarries.
The only thing that the owner of this “Kamaz-65201” did not like was the “local” rubber. The one that came from the factory was not good, and soon had to buy another one, better, of higher quality.

Not everybody votes for the quality of the sound insulation of the cabin: some people define it as average or even insufficient. There is no disagreement about the acceptance of the vehicle off-road: everyone defines them as weak. On hard pavement and firm, not absorbing moisture ground, “Kamaz-65201”, according to all owners and drivers, demonstrates excellent maneuverability for its size.
The quality of the factory painting and assembly of “Kamaz-65201” is also unanimously defined as poor. Serious and difficult to operate camber, as in the first of the above reviews, is still a rarity. But all kinds of minor faults and annoying defects, arising from time to time, are enough. However, spare parts are inexpensive and “on every corner”.
Many owners and drivers (in regions with hot summers) point out the lack of air conditioning in Kamaz-65201 cab. Yes, the heater works perfectly, and it is warm and comfortable in the winter, but in the summer the air conditioning system would not be superfluous. The cabin of the new axle is much more spacious and comfortable. The rating is excellent. All instruments are readable.
As for fuel consumption: the engine is quite insatiable, burns at least 40-45 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km with a loaded body. With an empty platform – 35 liters per 100 km.
