Despite the bad weather, LVIV hosted the Landscape Architecture and Modernity Forum. The organizer of the event was the guild of landscape architects of Ukraine. The forum was held for three days: the first two were lectures, the third day was supposed to be an excursion. Motives are not quite clear to us, as none of the organizers have not explained them, but the promised third day did not take place.
We offer you a photo report about the current profile exhibition IPM, which is traditionally held in the German city of Essen.
Making it a rule not to miss major special events, the Plant Club visited Gardenia 2013, which was traditionally held in Poznan, Poland, on the last weekend of February.
The exhibition, the fifth in a row, has become a tradition not only for the Polish crop, but also for specialists from various European countries. This year Gardenia United includes not only producers of planting material, producers of floor coverings and specialized gardening equipment, but also cattle breeders, fishing enthusiasts and sellers of decorative products.

From January 24 to 28 the German city of Essen traditionally hosted the thirtieth international exhibition IP M-Essen. In addition to the scale and scope of the event, we were personally surprised by its clarity and thoughtfulness. The organizers took into account all the remarks and shortcomings of recent years, to please the participants and visitors this year with perfect German precision and love of order. The entire exhibition was divided into three large territorial blocks: “plants”, “technology” and “floristry”. Each of the blocks consisted of a large number of categories.

In addition to plants and landscapes, the exhibition presents gardening tools, the latest fertilizers and substrates necessary for normal plant growth. Within the frames of the show Pavilion 8a will host the VII International floristry championship from February 24 to 26. The best florists will present their spring exhibitions.
But that’s not all what the organizers offer to experts and amateurs who want to visit the exhibition. During all days of the exhibition various trainings, seminars and workshops for producers, sellers and designers are held. Polish Garden Center Association organizes seminars on “Garden Center Management and Motivation of Employees”, “Tools and information to help you find the right plants”. The editors of Green City magazine will organize a seminar on urban gardening “Encouragement in the city of green spaces” in cooperation with the International Mass in Poznan. In addition, the winner of the competition for landscape architects and designers “Green in the City” will be announced. The theme of this year’s competition is a project for the development of a public green space in the center of the Stary Brovary district of Poznan.
